Adobong Pusit or Squid Adboo is one
of the simplest way of cooking squid wherein it is cooked in a soy sauce and other
ingredients. I said very simple, in the sense that you don’t have to stay long
cooking in the kitchen like other adobo recipes. Take note that you bought the
one that is fresh or no foul smell; washed the Pusit well before cooking; and do not
overcooked or else it becomes rubbery.
I love to eat this when cooked in a delectable thick
broth!
Ingredients:
- 1 kilo squid
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 medium size onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Procedure for Adobong
Pusit:
- Wash and clean the squid properly especially on the mouth area, arms and tentacles. Drain well in a strainer.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic until brown and add-in onion.
- Place Pusit in a pan and simmer for about 5 mins. (Cover the pan over medium heat). Stir occasionally.
- Add-in soy sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer again for another 5 mins or until the squid is tender. Stir until a thick broth is formed. Don’t overcook.
- Serve and enjoy!
